View from a waterfront cafe in Hvar. This huge tree grew out from the concrete between two tables, bent outside the entrance and created a large natural awning for the cafe.
On September 23, U2 brought the Pop Mart Tour to Sarajevo. This was the first concert by a major touring act in Bosnia in over five years. Needless to say people from all over came to experience the show. I'm on the island of Hvar and am faced with a decision: do I continue further out into the beautiful Dalmatian islands, or do I turn around now and take the 2 day trip back to Sarajevo to see U2?
Well I chose to stay out in the islands. On the night of the U2 concert I attended a recital in the cloisters of an ancient Franciscan monastery. While there were no giant lemons, there was some amazing music and a wonderful setting. Still, I was destined to be the only person under 40 in all the Balkans not to attend the U2 concert.
