SPLIT
At the airport I decide to split up from the repatriating supervisors and stay in Split, Croatia. I've decided to take a journey through the Dalmatian islands. I share a coffee with the returning supervisors before they board their flight home. I get lots of last minute travel advice from the supervisors who have been through Croatia.
So I left the airport and walked out into the warm Croatian afternoon. I waited for a bus that would take me to town. Now with no driver and no translator I was going to really start relying on my meager spoken Bosanski... only now I had to call it Hrvatski. Same language but each country (Serbia, Bosnia and Croatia) of the former Yugoslavia has claimed, and renamed it as there own.
