The peace treaty divides Bosnia into two autonomous territories -- the Serb republic and the Moslem-Croat federation. Both are cash only societies; no credit cards and no bank machines. The German deutchmark is accepted in both territories.
Dinars are the local exchange currency in the Federation half of Bosnia. This is a soft currency pegged to the Deutchmark and cannot be spent outside of the federation boundaries.

While in Sarajevo I (and a few thousand other people) attended the closing night of the Sarajevo Film Festival. The world premiere of Welcome to Sarajevo. It was a very powerful feeling to watch this film in the very city it which it takes place.
